BENGALURU (Reuters) - The steep rise of COVID-19 infections in India will slash global demand for oil, leading to a sizeable glut, Norway’s biggest independent energy consultancy Rystad said.
The struggle in India, one of the world’s largest oil consumer, will slash an extra 575,000 barrels per day (bpd) of oil liquids demand in April and 915,000 bpd in May 2021, disturbing the almost-balanced global oil market, according to the energy consultancy.
NEW YORK: Federal agents raided Rudy Giuliani’s Manhattan home and office Wednesday, seizing computers and cellphones in a major escalation of the Justice Department’s investigation into the business dealings of former President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer.
Giuliani, the 76-year-old former New York City mayor once celebrated for his leadership after 9/11, has been under federal scrutiny for several years over his ties to Ukraine. The dual searches sent the strongest signal yet that he could eventually face federal charges.
Agents searched Giuliani’s Madison Avenue apartment and Park Avenue office, people familiar with the investigation told The Associated Press. The warrants, which required approval from the top levels of the Justice Department, signify that prosecutors believe they have probable cause that Giuliani committed a federal crime though they do not guarantee that charges will materialize.

NEW YORK/HOUSTON – Exxon Mobil’s effort to build an energy trading business to compete with those of European oil majors unraveled quickly last year as the firm slashed the unit’s funding amid broader spending cuts, 10 people familiar with the matter have said.
The cuts left Exxon traders without the capital they needed to take full advantage of the volatile oil market, these people said. The coronavirus pandemic sent prices to historic lows with U.S. oil trading below zero at one point before a strong rebound. That created an immense profit opportunity for trading operations willing to take on the risk.
In whole, we feel confident in the track and we re just being very proactive, Ritvo said. We want to do all the testing that needs to be done. When we believe we re in good shape, we ll start to train over it again.

The latest fatality occurred during training on Tuesday, when a 4-year-old filly got injured and was euthanized. Obviously, one horse is too many, Ritvo said. The recent rash is just horrible. We need to definitely take a step back and evaluate everything.
Santa Anita received 11½ inches of rain and had unusually cold temperatures in February, but it s unclear whether track conditions played a role in any of the fatalities.

RIYADH: In a historic announcement, the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in Dhahran announced on Tuesday that it would start admitting female students for the first time in the 2021/2022 academic year.
The university, established in 1963 by a royal decree as the College of Petroleum and Minerals, is widely renowned for its strong science, engineering, business, and management programs. KFUPM is ranked fourth in the top 100 worldwide universities granted US Utility Patents in 2018.
However, until now, the university was exclusively open to male students, making the announcement a cause of celebration for Saudi female students seeking admission to its elite programs.
